If you value sustainability, then Vivienne Westwood’s 2021/22 autumn-winter collection is worthy of your wardrobe.
Divided into several design stories, the captivating collection mixes classic British tailoring with iconic archive styles that are redesigned to balance new silhouettes with classic pieces.
Consciously constructed featuring traditional wool fabrics, newly sourced recycled denim, forest positive viscose, organic silks and innovative eco printing systems.
90% of the collection is made from materials that have a reduced impact on our environment
Directed by Harry Bowley and styled by Ellie Grace Cumming, here’s a snippet of what’s on offer this season from Vivienne Westwood:
Now if you’ve noticed that the main print is a gorgeous sky and pastoral scene, and you’re wondering where you’ve seen it before… then that’s because the collection is inspired by the 1743 painting, Daphnis and Chloe, by French artist, François Boucher. Or more aptly, the Rocaille style – otherwise known as French Rococo (which appeared in Paris during the reign of Louis XV, and flourished between about 1723 and 1759).
Characterised by lightness, elegance, and an exuberant use of curving natural forms, the unisex collection was lensed by none other than British-Brazilian model and photographer, Alice Dellal. And I seriously can’t stop thinking that sustainability has never looked quite so divine!

Vicky began her career writing fashion, lifestyle and music related articles for a diverse range of print and digital media outlets. Shortly thereafter – upon discovering that a vast majority of the fashion industry were being out-shadowed by the commercial conglomerates of the world – Vicky (who equally grew tired of having no creative freedom herself) set out to create her own digital publishing platform that focused on promoting the incredible talents of all creatives within the fashion industry. Which is how The Fashion Catalyst began in 2009.
