Perth’s Prophet Lebanese Café has won the SBS Feast Food Awards national award for the best falafel.
Dubbed as being Perth’s finest, each falafel ball is made from scratch and entails a crispy crust with a bright green, parsley-flecked interior. SBS Feast Editor, Alix Clark said, “When enjoyed with lashings of tahini, these are the closest to homemade that you can get.”
“As Australians we are extremely spoilt for choice with the diversity of wonderful food available and it was particularly difficult to select the winners – it took an army of tasters to whittle it down to just a handful of gems.”
Now in its second year, the SBS Feast Food Awards is on a mission, of the culinary kind, to discover the very finest cuisine in the nation – taking it to local streets, suburbs and cities across Australia.
The West Australian state finalists are now showcased on the SBS Feast Food Awards app (here: http://appstore.com/appstore.com/sbsfeastfoodawards) along with 200 hand-picked eateries to tantalise those taste buds.
