In a week of spray tans, bikinis and hot-bods-to-die-for, Miami Swim Week 2019 peaked with its Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway show.
Starring a “lineup of women who stand for important issues donning socially conscious swimwear looks by designers who encourage and promote sustainability, inclusivity and philanthropy.”
Incredible models such as Christie Valdiserri – who suffered Alopecia Areata at the age of 22 – strummed the runway.
Along with Djaniel Carter – who was wheeled down the runway by Sports Illustrated editor and producer, MJ Day, due to a condition that makes it difficult for her to stand and walk (in which she suffered whilst being a professional dancer).
Who were just some of the incredible models strutting their stuff.
However, it was 55 year old model, Kathy Jacobs that stole the show…
IN A BIKINI!
The Californian-based model has been modelling since the 90’s when she was a “petite” model represented by the iconic Ford agency in New York City.
Presenting an array of swimsuits and coverups from the likes of Badgley Mishka, Meshki, Andi Bagus, Mira Zadeh, Bissy Swim, O’Neill, For Love and Lemons, and more… Here are our fave pics and designs from the event:
