Current Louis Vuitton Women’s Collections Creative Director, Nicolas Ghesquière, has unveiled the latest LV Cruise 2021 collection.
Typically showcased at vivid and lavish locations with spectacular performances, a bustling backstage of on-trend models, and a star-studded front row of celebrities, IT-influencers and devout clientele, this year we were taken on a much more intimate journey as the collection was showcased at the designer’s private studio located within Louis Vuitton’s headquarters in Pont-Neuf, Paris.
An ode to current times, the ‘Game On’ collection was inspired by a stationary journey. A contradiction, but not a burden. Rather a departure inwards, when time is providential. To explore one’s own territory of style-driven emotions, memorable colours, enthralling cuts, curated wardrobe expertise.
A rather personal journey, Nicolas said, “I looked somewhere that has been calling out to me for a long time, somewhere I hadn’t taken the time to go back to. To uncover one inspiration after another. This is an exploration of my creative identity.
“In this fantasy of illusion, clubs bloom, spades pierce, diamonds sparkle, and the almighty heart reigns. The Monogram plays its ace on the House’s most iconic accessories.
“It expresses a particular art of living that keeps the trunk-making heritage alive. It’s the symbolism of a deck of cards, the traveller’s loyal companion, entertainment cultivating togetherness.”
“Game On is a light-hearted adventure in which all of the House’s spheres of expertise play a role, driven by passionate craftsmanship, their winning card,” Nicolas Ghesquière concluded.
Vicky began her career writing fashion, lifestyle and music related articles for a diverse range of print and digital media outlets.
