On Wednesday 9th May 2012, sisters Cherish and Nicole Marrington presented their collective creative exhibition; Dancers in a Barbarian Wilderness at Hatch in Carillon City.
Uniting Cherish’s seemingly dark and twisted ink drawings with Nicole’s clever costume designs to tell a story of make-believe culture.
In the word’s of award-winning performance poet, Scott-Patrick Mitchell (who penned the delicious program), “In the periodic table of fashion, these two create a chemical fire that burns bright like magnesium. While one makes paper desirable, the other constructs costumes that even your dreams couldn’t imagine. Together, they populate a barbarian wilderness where the tundra of your modern heart yearns for the nostalgia that attires these dancers.”[cincopa AADAX6689U04]
All works, original and prints, are available at Hatch for purchase.
