Swarovski has announced today that they’ve engaged Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert as their first ever Global Creative Director.
The appointment is a part of the iconic brand’s new business model, along with its reinvigorated vision and growth strategy. Which I’m sure is something most fashion houses should be doing right now. Considering retail’s recent global hit doesn’t appear to be recovering.
Giovanna’s remarkable track record in the industry, and her compelling point of view, will see her explore new frontiers.

For decades now Swarovski has been illuminating the world of fashion, design, entertainment and the whole creative industry.
Moving forward, Giovanna will oversee the full creative direction of the brand and reimagine the product portfolio across all divisions. With the first products designed by Giovanna to showcase in Swarovski’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert is an Italian Creative Director, international Editor and Fashion Consultant with over 20 years of experience. Born and raised in Milan, she worked under famed editor Franca Sozzani at Italian Vogue before the two worked together running Vogue Gioiello and Vogue Pelle. Recognised for her work with global luxury brands on their ongoing creative and sustainable transformation of products, imagery, retail, organisations and marketing campaigns. Giovanna became Creative Director for Swarovski Professional in 2016 and Global Creative Director in 2020. Her consistent and compelling point of view in branding, design and content curation has earned her this role. And she will now cover all creative aspects of Swarovski as a whole.
