CHANEL‘s ‘The Backpack’ made its debut on the CHANEL 2014 Spring-Summer Ready-to-Wear runway with its cool play on this season’s must-have accessory by Karl Lagerfeld.

Its graffiti, tags, splashes of paint and colours, added details like scoubidous, snap hooks and luggage tags are a creative customisation for the fashion House.

Having required several hours to complete, each backpack is made in a thick linen canvas with every motif specially conceived and reproduced thanks to a specific printing procedure.

Playing with conventions, Karl declared, “There’s a certain lightness and a certain kind of humour in all this.”

Available in two sizes (as well as a third tote-shaped version) and three colours, the CHANEL backpack is available in CHANEL boutiques, and also for a limited time at colette, from February 24th to March 8th 2014.
