ABOUT THE FASHION CATALYST

In 2009, Vicky Sofield launched The Fashion Catalyst as a media resource and behind-the-scenes insight into the fashion industry. Little did she know that she was at the forefront of inspiring an entire digital trend that’s now known as fashion blogging.

Since then, The Fashion Catalyst has become an internationally recognised fashion resource that’s solidified strong connections with iconic fashion houses, designers and brands across the globe.

WHO IS VICKY SOFIELD?

Prior to 2009, Vicky began her career writing fashion, lifestyle and music related articles for a diverse range of print and digital media outlets. Shortly thereafter – upon discovering that a vast majority of the fashion industry were being out-shadowed by the commercial conglomerates of the world – Vicky (who equally grew tired of having no creative freedom working for other platforms) set out to create her own digital publishing platform that focused on promoting the incredible talents of all creatives within the fashion industry.

And that’s how The Fashion Catalyst began…

Needless to say that shortly thereafter, Vicky rose to prominence with a trajectory of successful career highlights. For example, she was head hunted by Condé Nast’s Italian Vogue to be their contributing editor at Australian Fashion Week in 2014, and again in 2016. As well, she was head hunted by the City of Perth to become the City of Perth Fashion Ambassador & Official Blogger throughout 2015 and 2016. Plus many more iconic career moments that ultimately paved the way for other [mostly] female entrepreneurs wanting to pursue a career in fashion from their laptops.

Fast forward to 2016, and at the height of a very enjoyable, fast-paced and highly respected international career in the fashion industry, Vicky required a couple of years hiatus due to health concerns (Vicky had a bone tumour removed). Following on with some time out with her family and to pursue further studies (in Natural Health [nutrition & diet] and Life Coaching).

Then in 2019, after a remarkable return to health – still under the helm of editor-in-chief, Vicky Sofield – The Fashion Catalyst relaunched with a new look and direction as Western Australia’s number-one fashion news, street style, celebrity and online fashion shopping resource for its 58k+ monthly website viewers and 88k+ social media community.
