Perth Bid For Beckham
You’ve probably heard the news that Perth Glory have bid for soccer success David Beckham and his team the Los Angeles Galaxy, to face off in a Perth based match. Well if you hadn’t then now you know!
It didn’t actually strike any interest to me however, it did prompt me to google the (now) not-so-young David Beckham…and what do you know, I came across some pics of him a year before he met Victoria Beckham and also after he met the former singer and recent designer:

Fans of Australian owned General Pants Co. queued for hours as the doors of its first ever Perth store opened earlier this morning in Perth’s Murray Street Mall.
Possessing 40 existing stores around the Sydney shores, the first ever Perth General Pants Co. was finally brought about by one dedicated fan: Lee Gesmundo, and his Facebook campaign.
Stocking an array of labels like sass&bide, Lee, Ksubi, Converse, Alice in the Eve and many more, Perth shoppers can now buy quality labels in one central city store.

National Costume: Honorable Or Horrible?
Perth’s Miss Universe Australia, Scherri-Lee Biggs, has set tongues wagging with the unveiling of her technicoloured national costume designed by Kooey.
Now now, before you go making judgement so fast, this is one of the toughest costumes to construct as it has to resemble Australia. That said, I still don’t feel that it has resembled Australia in the least…

Perth Fashion Festival 2011 Program Launch
Perth Fashion Festival 2011 officially launched its style studded program this morning at 140 William Street to elite guests of the fashion industry.
This year there are a lot of changes on the horizon, with the spectacular WA Museum‘s Hacket Hall transforming into Fashion Paramount; housing over 5000 guests throughout the festival, and the GPO Building on Murray Street converting into Fashion Central.
A mammoth 136 designers will participate at this year’s Festival with stand alone shows going to leading designers ae’lkemi, Story By Tang, S2, Wheels & Dollbaby, Zsadar (with the only menswear collection) and for the first time ever, Aurelio Costarella has joined the ranks.

Joining the West Australian talent at Fashion Paramount this year will be national designers Magdalena Velevska and Yeojin Bae.
The Perth Fashion Festival calendar includes over 40 free, ticketed and invitation-only high fashion events and will showcase from Wednesday September 21st through till Tuesday September 27th, 2011.
Wheels & Dollbaby To Close Perth Fashion Festival
Glamorous rock’n'roll label Wheels & Dollbaby will draw the curtain on Perth Fashion Festival 2011 with a show-stopping, typically sold-out, show at His Majesty’s Theatre.
Celebrating the label’s 25th year anniversary, designer Melanie Greensmith will launch her 2011/12 Spring Summer collection along side husband (and Divinyls guitarist) Mark McEntee, with a soon to be announced line up of musical talent.
“Perth Fashion Festival is like family to us so we’re thrilled to be celebrating our 25th birthday party on home soil as part of the Festival. And His Majesty’s Theatre is the perfect venue to throw a posh rock’n ‘roll party for our closest family and friends!” Ms Greensmith said.
The brand has developed a cult label status amongst its Dollbaby devotees, celebrity fans of which include Jerry Hall, Gwen Stefani, Pamela Anderson, Kate Hudson, Pink, Dita Von Teese, Kelly Osbourne and Sadie Frost.
Wheels & Dollbaby collections are constructed and handcrafted in Australia utilising vintage inspired and sourced fabrics.
