Perth’s Hope For Haiti Fundraiser

On the 12th of January 2010, an earthquake of catastrophic magnitude hit the island nation of Haiti near its capital Port-Au-Prince causing an estimated 200.000 deaths and rendering half a million people homeless.
In Haiti the devastation has been dramatic and widespread. In addition to the tragic loss of life, the damage to the country’s already fragile infrastructure has been severe.
The dire effects of this tragedy have prompted a substantial outpour of compassion and generosity from all over the globe with most of the major international charities now active in Haiti.
To help rebuild Haiti, CLASSIC, X-press, OPP & Nova is coming together for PERTH’S HOPE FOR HAITI FUNDRAISER, a fundraiser in support of Oxfam’s Haiti Earthquake Appeal, Saturday 13th February at Onyx, 72 Outram Road, West Perth.
All performers & event staff are donating their services for the cause and 100% of the proceeds from doorsales sales will go directly to Oxfam’s Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

West End Festival 2010

“This February I invite you all to create your own West Side story.
Take a stroll through one of our elegant, luxurious retail precincts – I promise you will discover something new and exciting.
As you stroll around the Westend, take note of how Western Australian forward retailers sit confidently alongside some of the world’s most established and well known designer labels.
Restored heritage buildings along King Street are a window into Perth’s rich cultural history while the new Wesley Quarter demonstrates contemporary design – a harmonizing pairing of the old and new.
Take a turn off the main streets and head down one of the Westend’s laneways to explore the new cafés, bars and art galleries that operate in our more out of the way spaces.
During the Westend Festival, gather with friends and join in the many activities that will take place in this much loved area. There’s fashion parades, dancing, dining, movies, comedy and music — including a contest to find our top DJ.
I commend the diverse group of Westend retailers and all the other businesses who have worked hard to produce this four-day festival for your complete enjoyment.
This February, I invite you to visit and fall in love with the Westend.”
The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor
Lisa Scaffidi
